Taken

Beeing sick helps to finish a book quickly. Read Taken by Edward Bloor yesterday. Interesting book where its 2036 and it is very normal for children of rich parents to be kidnapped for ransom.

Books I have read in 2010!

Comfort Food - Kate Jacobs
Taken - Edward Bloor - juvenile fiction
Niner - Theresa Martin Golding - juvenile fiction
Princess Ben - Catherine Gilbert Murdock - Juvenile fiction...good book
Gabriel's Horses (Racing to Freedom Trilogy) - Allison Hart - a book about slavery, the Civil War, and Horse Racing

Comfort Food

Finished up a book yesterday! Yeah!!! I am trying to write them all down as soon as I read it...we'll see if that works. Plus I am going to have one list with all the books I read in 2010...one view of all of them...and how about a movie schedule too? Well, that might just be too much for me to handle...but we'll see!

Comfort Food: A Novel by Kate Jacobs

Praise for Comfort Food
"Kate Jacobs' breezy follow-up to her bestselling The Friday Night Knitting Club is a satisfying read that showcases Jacobs' skill in creating endearingly flawed characters… the kind of book you rush home to finish. "

– USA Today

"Gus and the show's cast, with their humor, moods, and romance, are the sparks that bring this warm and irresistible story to life. Highly recommended."

– Library Journal

"Lighthearted."

– Kirkus Reviews

"Comfort Food is good for the heart and soul."

– BookPage

My review: I liked it. Romance, cooking, family, stress, just real life (plus a bunch of...can you believe this). It is an easy to read book by the author of "Friday Night Knitting Club" which I read a year or two ago. There is a sequel to FNKC and I guess that's the next one I need to get. - this is not a kids book (this is for Jason who thinks that's all I am reading), but it also doesn't have blood and guts spilling all over, but some good competition between two extreme cabable women.

What did I read over Christmas break?

Young Adult:
Living on Impulse by Cara Haycak
Willa by Heart by Coleen Murtagh Paratore
The Cupcake Queen by Heather Hepler
Shift by Jennifer Bradbury (now this is an interesting book to read! read it in one day)

Adult:
Belong to Me by Marisa de los Santos
Playing for Pizza by John Grisham

Before Christmas...in November I guess..Julie & Julia by Julie Powell...okay...that was the most weird book I have read and I don't recomend it :-(
I also read Christopher Buckleys No Way to Treat a First Lady and I do recomend this one. It was interesting reading.
Devoured Going Rogue by Sarah Palin as soon as it was available (Dan actually bought it for me without me asking for it)!

There were more books since my last posting, but I forgot which ones. And in between I also listen to books I have downloaded to MP3 player from the library...go figure.

I'll try to keep up with this better, even if I don't give you a link to these books and only write down the titles!
